The mouse guards on the ventilation holes in the cellar are a big success.
You might not think so when you see this:
Yep, days after making it rodent proof, we had a rat in the cellar.
It seems like we might have fenced him in. Opps.
But he couldn't get out through the ventilation holes. And what can't get out, can't get in.
It looks like he was tunnelling out through the walls. But some squirty filler put paid to that. And with any luck, finally shut him out. Or trapped him in a hole.
And Allie's nose once again has shown distinct rat hunting talent. Every time he moved, she pointed him out. "You can run but you can't hide."
It seems the barn did not want to be outdone by the cellar. Not only was there evidence of them ratty teeth:
Apparently chain saw blade covers are tasty ?
But he saw seen running along the cupboards.
Making the barn rat proof is a long way off. If the cats can get in, a rat surely can. But, apparently pizza is even more tasty than chain saw covers and he is in the barn no longer.
I guess it was too much to hope that they would stay in the field.
